Key Stage 2 is divided into two phases, Lower and Upper Key Stage. Lower Key Stage 2 is Years 3 and 4 and the Phase Leader is Mrs Hodges. Upper Key Stage 2 is Years 5 and 6 and the acting Phase Leader is Miss Robinson. The curriculum is designed within the whole school context, building on the Foundation Years and Key Stage 1.
We aim to provide a balanced curriculum that is relevant to the children’s lives. The emphasis is on key skills, focusing on the subjects of English, Maths, RE, and Science to develop life skills and a deeper understanding of the Christian faith.
Alongside this emphasis on core skills is the recognition that children will thrive when given an opportunity to explore all areas of their creativity. We therefore include a wide variety of foundation subjects that provides stimulation and helps to meet the individual needs of each pupil. The children are given lots of opportunities to enhance their learning through extra-curricular clubs and educational visits.
Children will be expected to complete set homework to consolidate their learning. This may include maths, reading, topic work and spellings.
