Friends of SToC
All parents and carers with a child attending St Thomas of Canterbury are automatically members of the Friends of St Thomas of Canterbury group - (Friends of SToC for short). The group exists to support the work of the school for the benefit of the children and local community.
What do we do?
Fundraising is one of our main objectives and the money raised goes towards buying resources for the school. We also like to organise events for the children and fun nights out just for the parents.
Got an idea for a fun event? Please let us know......
We are a newly formed team and plan to hold quiz nights, bingo nights, cinema nights, race nights and also assist with the Christmas and Summer fairs.
How can you get involved?
We currently hold regular fortnightly meetings and you are welcome to join any of these - please see the school diary for the date of the next meeting.
There are lots of ways for you to be involved, you can take on a formal role, such as a class representative or organise a specific project liaising with the School. You can make a difference by running coffee morning's or a stall at an event, by donating, volunteering to help out, or by just turning up and enjoying an event. The decision is yours, but every bit of help counts and it will be an opportunity to get involved, meet new people and help your local community - whilst having fun as well!
Join our 200 Club
Joining the 200 club is a very easy way to support the school financially, whilst giving you a chance to win a cash prize.
For just £20 subscription per academic year, you will be allocated a unique number. A live draw takes place at the end of each month, where you could win a prize of £30 in September, October, November, January, February, March, May and June or £120 in December, April and July.
This 200 Club is open to anyone over 18+, including parents, carers, relatives, friends, staff and governors. All profit raised after prize money has been allocated is reinvested in the school.
If you have not already seen an application form, then please contact either the school office on 0208 648 0869 or email friends@st-thomascanterbury.merton.sch.uk

The money that is raised is used to fund a variety of projects. This could be playground equipment/markings, new library equipment, sports equipment or music resources. It can also be used to subside events for the children and put towards important school improvements that would not be possible without the hard work, commitment and generosity of all the parents who get involved.
