 April 20th 2016

As the children arrived they started practicing their bowling, batting and fielding skills, getting themselves prepared for their upcoming games.  As there were 6 teams in the competition, a round robin format was used.

Lonesome and St Thomas played eachother in the first fixture of the competition. Lonesome batted first and scored a very high 245 which their players were very pleased with.  St Thomas stepped up knowing they had a big score to chase.  Both teams were neck and neck until the last over where a few slip ups from a nervous bowler meant St Thomas were able to gain an extra 4 vital runs to win the game 249-245.

The rest of the games showed our players amazing skills with some excellent batting and tactical running from the batting pairs and quick reaction skills leading to some brilliant catches by our fielders.

Throughout the competition our team not only showed excellent sportsmanship between themselves and their opposition but the standard of cricket being played also significantly improved.

Winning 5 out of our 6 games, the team finished 2nd, which qualifies them for the Borough Finals in June.

Wishing them all good luck at the Borough Finals!!!!
